Tattoos by Spade · Waikīkī
Tattoo Artist in Honolulu Open Late
Quick Answer
Open until 10PM every day including weekends. Perfect for tourists who want to get inked after a day at the beach. Walk-ins accepted before close.
Late Hours Built for Waikiki
Most tattoo studios in Honolulu close at 7PM or 8PM — reasonable hours for a studio that primarily serves locals with scheduled appointments. But Waikiki runs on tourist time, and tourists spend their days at the beach. The tattoo decision often comes in the evening: dinner wraps, the sun sets, someone says "we should do something spontaneous."
Spade's studio is open until 10PM exactly for that reason. Evening walk-ins are part of the design, not an exception to it. If you show up at 7:30PM with a clear idea, there's a realistic chance you walk out tattooed before 10.
How Late Walk-Ins Work
Evening walk-ins work best for pieces that can be completed within 1.5–2.5 hours. After 8PM, the practical window for a new walk-in session narrows — there needs to be enough time to consult, design, set up, tattoo, and wrap before close.
The ideal evening walk-in arrives between 6PM and 8PM with: - A clear idea or reference image - A specific placement in mind - Realistic expectations about size (smaller = more feasible at night)
For larger pieces, the evening walk-in becomes a consultation — you establish what you want, Spade books you into the next available slot, and the work starts at a time when it can be done right.
The Evening Client Experience
Evening sessions have a particular energy. The tourist day is done — no agenda, no rush to get back to the beach. You're choosing to be here. That intentionality shows in the experience.
Spade gives the same attention to a 7PM walk-in as a 10AM scheduled appointment. The studio is clean, the setup is thorough, the design process is collaborative. Late hours don't mean rushed work — they mean more hours in which good work can happen.
Where to Find the Studio After Dark
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Diamond Head Tower is well-lit, staffed, and accessible all evening. The studio is inside the hotel — follow signage to Aloha Tattoo or ask at the hotel entrance.
Parking at the Hilton is available for visitors with validation. For those on foot from neighboring hotels, it's an easy walk along the strip. Coming from further in Waikiki, a rideshare drops you directly at the hotel entrance.
